ClearSky Mobile Media Brings Complete Entertainment Package to MTA Subscribers in Alaska

ClearSky Mobile Media, Inc., a leading provider of mobile entertainment services to the wireless industry, today announced that Matanuska Telephone Association (MTA), a CDMA carrier in Alaska, has launched a comprehensive suite of data services.

The entertainment suite allows subscribers to use multimedia messaging as well as download content such as ringtones, games, and wallpapers for added personalization. ClearSky is providing data services via its ProVantage, ProVision, ClearBill, MMS-C, and ProPortal products over MTA’s CDMA 1xRTT network.

ClearSky’s data services are competitively designed to promote ease of use and provide the latest and most requested downloadable content available. MTA offers a no-subscription-fee billing model for WAP access, allowing subscribers to browse the Web from their phones at will and only be billed for airtime used and content downloaded. Because it is a rural carrier, MTA is able to use ClearSky’s tools and products to customize its WAP deck to better serve its customers and gives them an advantage over larger Tier 1 carriers.

“We were looking for a competitive edge over other cellular companies,” said Jackie Kenshalo, MTA Public Relations Manager. “ClearSky’s comprehensive set of data services made our decision to choose them an easy one. We’ve seen an increase in both profits and customer satisfaction since implementation.”

“MTA needed a solution most content aggregators are unable to provide,” said Dean Fresonke , ClearSky CEO. “ClearSky will continue to create new products and build meaningful relationships that will keep ourselves and our carriers ahead of the competition.”

About MTA

MTA was formed in 1953 to serve residents in the Palmer area, and now extends across Alaska’s fast-growing rail belt region from Eagle River to Anderson and from Skwentna to Glacier View, nearly 10,000 square miles. The MTA headquarters is located in Palmer and our stores are in Eagle River, Palmer, and Wasilla. Central switching offices are in Big Lake, Eagle River, Healy, Talkeetna, Tyonek, and Wasilla, Alaska. MTA invests in the highest quality and most advanced products available in the industry, including extensive fiber optic cabling and electronic platforms to support broadband signals such as digital subscriber loop (DSL). An integral part of our community, MTA donates thousands of dollars and hours of time annually to support the local non-profit efforts of the United Way, 4-H, Toys for Tots, youth programs, food banks, and senior programs.
