ClearSky Launches DayPass to Boost Carriers' Data ARPU
DayPass option lets "walled garden" subscribers access mobile web on demand.
June 10, 2008 (Orlando, Fla.) - ClearSky Mobile Media, Inc., a leading provider of managed data services and
content to wireless carriers and their subscribers, today announced the launch of its new DayPass service.
Already, six of ClearSky's three dozen carrier clients in the Americas have either deployed DayPass in production,
or are planning a roll-out to their respective subscriber bases.
"ClearSky recognized that only 10-20% of a carrier's subscribers typically purchase a data plan, thus leaving the
vast majority of subscribers without any access to the mobile web," said ClearSky's executive vice president of sales,
Tony Tagliareni. "Because we create a revenue sharing arrangement with each of our carrier clients, we wanted to offer
them a way to improve their data ARPU while addressing the mobile browsing needs of their underserved subscribers;
hence DayPass was born."

all of our clients to implement both an 'open access' and 'walled garden' instance of our popular WAP Gateway service,"

and gives walled garden subscribers an opportunity to purchase a variety of inexpensive 24-hour passes to specific types
of mobile sites on the web." Currently, ClearSky offers DayPass options for Social Networking, Weather, Sports, and News.
Other DayPass categories will be introduced in the coming months.
